If your USB drive is corrupted due to a virus or an internal virus problem, then you cannot open the USB drive and you cannot format it.
How to format in the Cmd box?
If you want to format / reform it through a command prompt.
1: Go to Start and Find Command Prompt or type “cmd”
2: Right-click on “Command Box” and click “Run as Administrator”
Type “List Drive” (you will see the total number of discs connected to your PC)
- Pick the right disk from the option and remember the total size of your disk. If you need to connect more than one disc, then remember your disk with their size.
In the Cmd box, select “1 disk” (disk 1 is my USB drive)
Type “clean” (you should try more than once until you clean the disc)
Create a partition of your USB drive.
Type “Create Partition” in the cmd box
Select “Partition 1”
Now you can format your USB drive
In the command box, type “format fs = fat32”
FS = File System
(fat32 = we will format the USB drive in FAT32 format)
All USB flash drives and SD cards were formatted via “fat32”
The system takes some time but after the format is complete your drive is ready to open.
